Just when Ituc-Africa Csi-Afrique was about to send out a statement on the situation in Burkina Faso on the need for President Blaise Campaore to respect the wishes of the Burkinabe people by not tinkering with the constitution to throw out term limits (I remember a similar mobilisation against Obasanjo when he attempted same...), news are coming in tthick and fast hat Mr. Campaore has ran into exile, his younger brother has been arrested at the airport and there are moves to agree on an interim leadership. Again, people power prevailed... I will remember this as the Spatula revolt where Burkinabe women led from the front, beginning. Let other old relics masquerading as strong men-leaders across the continent be warned. Africans want genuine and true leadership that will deliver true progress for them and their communities and not self-serving-sit-tight-rhetoric waxing- and finger-pointing- less imaginative leaders the elite has foisted on the people. Viva Burkina Faso, the land of the great Thomas Sakara of Africa!
