Just wrapped up a conference call with the National Weather - TopicsExpress

Just wrapped up a conference call with the National Weather Service for the latest on the winter storm anticipated to impact the WBGL listening area on Tuesday into Wednesday morning. Heres a summary of my notes on what to expect, along with a more specific forecast for the listening area below that. Stay safe and warm, friends! -Ryan Springer - Snow potential ramps up Tuesday morning (far western IL) and spreads east over the remainder of the area during the afternoon. snow will wrap up by Wednesday mid-morning with significant accumulations (7 to 10 inches) possible in central IL, where the heaviest snow band appears to be setting up mainly along and north of i-72 to i-74. - Areas outside the heavy snow band, both to the north and south of central IL, will receive from 3 to 6 inches, with gradually lesser amounts as you head both north and south from central IL. - Expected to be a light and fluffy snow... winds will be able to blow around fairly easily, especially as we head into Wednesday. - Ice accumulations will be possible over far southern Illinois where up to a tenth of an inch will fall during the day Tuesday. - After the storm passes on Wednesday, some blowing and drifting of the snow will occur, followed by another surge of arctic air for the end of the week. - Subzero low temperatures will be possible again Thursday and Friday mornings.
