Justice- I have read so many comments about the injustice that is taken place here in NY and Ferguson and I have read questions posed about Activists, leaders, Pastors, Politicians, Preachers, etc. within community? Where are they? Well I believe they are where they are with their hands tied with not having a strategy or plan to implement and address the corruption that is so pervasive within the justice system and systems alike. Questions of Why? forces of us to deal with how far we are willing to go to do justice. Some theologians call this area of corruption Institutional Sin and it is bigger than any individual. It is the sin that affects the entire system. Doing justice requires us to look at an entire system, not just the problems of an individual or a group. It is important that we understand the sociological reality that is set before us and that is systems change individuals far more than individuals change systems. Proven fact no one people(Communities) is voting putting the right people in office that can bring about change, Instead we allow people to lead us by default and/or we vote with loyalty on our shoulders for political figures who victory story needs dusting off after being in office with same ole tired rally phrase. Churches can have power and will have power to change sinful systems when it meets the demands to be deeply reserve in the faith that is in Christ. If there is no deep root in the worship of Christ, personal devotions to the calling of Christ and connection to the community of Christ we all fall away with a fight in our hearts and bound hands. People who are not deeply rooted in Christ can never shake any system. Change is possible and we have history of extraordinary examples who pave the way through the civil rights and countless defeats of injustice across this land. Change can happen when we partner with Christ. I encourage you to Pray that you ask God to reveal to you what area that you can assist in fighting injustice and showing mercy even if it is one area? Do it and make change. Strategy and demonstration is power not talk and highlights our weaknesses on social networks. These are my thoughts and I am praying for the families who have loss to injustice and ask God to grant them peace as He fights our battles well. Because God does all things well.
