Justice and Constitutional Affairs Minister Fahad Assani has condemned the recent violent conduct of some Muslims in Mangochi over the selling of pork by businessman Paulo Msangwa, reminding the general public that Malawi remains a circular state and no one has the powers to stop others from consuming pork. But the Islamic Information Bureau-IIBs National Coordinator Sheikh Dinala Chabulika has said the conduct was neither meant to declare Mangochi an Islamic district nor infringe on anyone’s economic activity. Sheikh Chabulika also stressed that the selling of pork without restrictions has the potential of misleading Muslim faithfuls.
