K. Havent updatd anyting un-dome related in a while so I thought its definitely time to share this gem from before I got to CalEarth. Melanie Trojkovic and I were in a tiki-themed bar having a few beers, only there because it was the only bar within like 50ks cos LA is so spaz. We were humorously watching this woman who barely walked into the bar a few minutes previous and attempted to perch herself on a bar stool which was way too high for her, while wearing the tiniest skirt possible to still be called a skirt, all while incredibly and obviously slaughtered. She was also some sort of ethnicity and was on the arm of some cowboy dude so we assumed for hilarities purpose that she was some wasted hooker. Bad to make stereotypes, but it just felt too right. Some guy had also dragged in Karaoke machine for the night and was taking people from the crowd to smash out a few. There was a pretty good rendition of some avril livigne song and a few other poorer renditions of even poorer songs. A few songs deep, to our absolute amazement, this woman slinks off her chair and approaches the mic. Mel and I were ready for possibly the best and worst event ever to occur ever, so we wait to watch it unfold. She has also chosen I will survive, by whoever sings it, which is like the hardest song to pull off ever cos its obviously so well known and amazing. Anyways, she begins, and absolutely nails it. Like her hooker facade melted away and from the ashes rose some Karaoke queen goddess. She easily stole the night and showed that even hookers have dreams too.
