K. I know that I already weighed in on this once, but I gotta get this off my mind. Lets assume the system works and Darren Wilson was just trying to survive a day at a very tough job, and was justified in what he did. Why is it so hard for some people to believe that? Were 12 honest, intelligent citizens not selected to decide his fate? I wasnt there and cant say what happened, but I can say that my own experiences with police make me have my own doubts. I would say that the actions of Darren Wilson are only a small part of the problem and that a much larger part falls on the shoulders of every other policeman in this country. If every other cop in this country did his duty to protect and serve with respect for all forms of life (pets included), then maybe we would all assume thats what Darren Wilson was doing as well. So next time you want to fill your quota with a seatbelt ticket or slam whiskey, hop in your squad car and go harass some skater kids, (yes this has really happened to me) ask yourself how thats going to look when some other officer is begging 12 men for his freedom because he wanted to live to the end of his shift.
