K so last time in Dt 10:17 i skipped the bit about how YHVH doesnt - TopicsExpress

K so last time in Dt 10:17 i skipped the bit about how YHVH doesnt take rewards - that means nobody can bribe Him; so His judgement is always fair & nobody is buying their way into heaven as the catholics used to lead people to believe, with their practice that thank God they stopped called indulgences (wouldnt be surprised if some of the prosperity camp is still doing this practice, which is basically claiming that if you pay a monetary fee, their false god will forgive you for your sins with no repentance involved - so as long as the checks keep going in to the church, you have a license to sin; as a result many people didnt feel bad for kidnapping & raping, then killing whoever they wanted). So as a lot of the previous section was talking about, God is fair with poor people & this gives most of us a lot of comfort because i heard that about 90% of the worlds wealth is controlled by about 2% of the worlds people; so if the rumors are true about that; that means that there are a lot more people besides me left out in the cold when it comes to wealth & so the idea that the rich guy isnt going to get preferential treatment for once probably is cause for most of us to rejoice. Well think about, it a homeless bum & a millionaire are going to get the same treatment from God & He wont look at either one like they are better than the other - on our earth treating people in this way is pretty much unthinkable; but because we are ambassadors of God we are supposed to be this way ourselves & teach the world what life is really about. Thinking about it this message of the pie in the sky & how in the next life justice will truly prevail, not to mention the bit about how we are to turn the other cheek to people who abuse us now, is what attracts many to use & abuse the bible & twist it to their own ends to control other people. As if you can convince someone that you hold the authority of Prophet of God; then the people will put up with a lot of abuse from you in an attempt to please God. But before that, in the beginning of the section in 10:12-13 i noticed that because the line starts off with Moses calling them by the name Israel; & my favorite interpretation of that is ruled by God - what he was saying is, If you think you are ruled by God, act like it & so the message to us is if we call ourselves Christians we should act like it & not be running around pretending & actually being wolves in sheeps clothes. We are warned repeatedly about how they will creep in so let us all pray that none of them is us like that famous mans saying - we found the enemy, & it is us. Also i noticed that when it was talking about how God wants them to circumcise their hearts it was talking about repentance. And so this is just further evidence for my doctrine that the new covenant is the same old covenant dressed up in new clothes as the rules of God didnt change (Did you see Jesus say last time Jn 12:50 And I know that his commandment is life everlasting: whatsoever I speak therefore, even as the Father said unto me, so I speak. -? If Jesus said that Gods commandments are life everlasting, why we think grace means we can disobey them doesnt make sense, especially when you hold it up next to the scripture that says be ye doers of the word & not hearers only) so much as how we go about obeying them as now instead of doing it under our own power we are relying on the power of the indwelling Holy Spirit to give us the strength. & sure enough i forgot one more thing (& that sermon was long just imagine if i included this stuff lol), that the line at the end of the section that the amount of the people were like the stars of heaven for multitude - that is God fulfilling His promise to Abraham back in Gen 17 & a few other confirmatory promises later on. So this is one of a long list of confirmations of this verse - Num 23:19 God is not a man, that he should lie; neither the son of man, that he should repent: hath he said, and shall he not do it? or hath he spoken, and shall he not make it good? - Whatever God says, He will make it happen & you can take that to the bank. Ha & speaking of taking Gods word to the bank one time God did make a mysterious deposit in my bank account of about one or two hundred dollars at precisely the right critical moment once... Never did find out where it came from & couldnt find it on my statement. Like any one of the other about 1k miracles He showed me sometimes God does things that are unexplainable. Dt 11:1 Therefore thou shalt love the LORD thy God, and keep his charge, and his statutes, and his judgments, and his commandments, alway. K so the chapter starts off with another exhortation to always treasure up & guard in your heart so that you agree to & obey YHVHs rules. So for some reason God is telling me to give you this verse which is about after you disobeyed God & dont like your consequences - 2 Chr 7:14 If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land. - probably because this is a good stack of peoples favorite verse & i seen it as a keynote scripture at more than one conference. So the issue i wanted to bring up is if you are not obeying & have consequences that you dont like; then trying to claim that favorite scripture isnt going to help you if you dont do the turn from your wicked ways part meaning repent & start obeying God. This verse in todays section is trying to prevent you from needing the verse from 2 Chr 7:14, because if you are always obeying you wont have consequences you dont like, & a need to repent to claim the scripture. Everybodys gotta repent at least once; but continual repeated repenting over the same issues is unhealthy for your eternal soul (Heb 2:3; 6:1-6; 12:17; 2 Pet 2:20-22 - i sometimes hate bringing these up because everyone seems to ignore what they are saying, due to the eternal security doctrine - that if i even see it in the bible, i only see that it strictly applies to the people who are running around obeying the will of God & not disobeying) because of the passage i brought up recently saying if you are sinning when you die or Jesus comes back you will have to face the music; & also there is the scripture that i was given as a mission - Ezek 3:17 Son of man, I have made thee a watchman unto the house of Israel: therefore hear the word at my mouth, and give them warning from me. 18 When I say unto the wicked, Thou shalt surely die; and thou givest him not warning, nor speakest to warn the wicked from his wicked way, to save his life; the same wicked man shall die in his iniquity; but his blood will I require at thine hand. 19 Yet if thou warn the wicked, and he turn not from his wickedness, nor from his wicked way, he shall die in his iniquity; but thou hast delivered thy soul. 20 Again, When a righteous man doth turn from his righteousness, and commit iniquity, and I lay a stumblingblock before him, he shall die: because thou hast not given him warning, he shall die in his sin, and his righteousness which he hath done shall not be remembered; but his blood will I require at thine hand. 21 Nevertheless if thou warn the righteous man, that the righteous sin not, and he doth not sin, he shall surely live, because he is warned; also thou hast delivered thy soul. - so this passage has some very interesting points that i feel are related to salvation, because it is talking about delivering souls. So point 1 is that there are people who are called wicked who if they are warned about their sin do not care & will keep doing it & die as a penalty. Point 2 is that there are people called righteous that if they are warned after they sin they will stop doing it & be able to live. Point 3 is that if the righteous person who sinned is not warned & they do not stop sinning until they die they will die in their sins & the righteousness that they have done will not be remembered. So my question to the people who abuse we are not under the law, but under grace is why do you suggest that or any other out of context passage trumps the biblical precedent set out by this passage? Now i know where the trump is, in Esther where it says 4:14 For if thou altogether holdest thy peace at this time, then shall there enlargement and deliverance arise to the Jews from another place; but thou and thy father’s house shall be destroyed: and who knoweth whether thou art come to the kingdom for such a time as this? - This one says the righteous man will get a warning from another source and repent & not die but the messenger who didnt do their job still dies. So that still does not trump the issue about the people who are called wicked are the ones who when warned do not stop sinning. So ima quit here seeing as how last time about 9 verses were packed full with a wealth of information so it took real long, i figure i give you a break because the next section looks like it might take a while to cover it thoroughly. Because this is a verse by verse study i feel a little guilty when i summarize a large section too swiftly, as then i wind up going backwards like i did today, to give you the stuff i missed. So i will try & finish the paragraph next time & until then let us pray that if we call ourselves Christians, we are acting like it & that we are not really wolves in sheeps clothes, deceiving ourselves. Let us thank God for His integrity in being unable to be bribed which means that nobody on this great earth will ever get a more fair shot with God than you. Let us pray that nobody is deceived into thinking they can buy their way into heaven or buy a license to sin here on earth. Let us pray that we learn & do the real meaning of repentance & not this pretenda repentance that the we are not under the law, but under grace people preach. Let us pray that we always treasure up & guard in our hearts so that we agree to & obey YHVHs rules.
