KAIZER Chiefs Team manager Bobby Motaung is adamant that Amakhosi captain Itumeleng Khune will stay in Naturena. Motaung poured cold water on speculation that the Bafana Bafana shot-stopper is on the verge of joining rivals Orlando Pirates with Mamelodi Sundowns also keen on his signature. He said: “We’ll meet Khune’s agent soon to discuss a new contract. “There is no rush, we are not under pressure because he’s still a Kaizer Chiefs captain. He is in our plans and that’s why he has been included in our CAF Confederations Cup squad.” He added: “I’d like to know who is this rumour guy. Maybe he wants to see Itu playing for Pirates.” But Khune could follow on the footsteps of former Chiefs legend Brian Baloyi who surprised everyone when he joined Sundowns following a decade with Amakhosi. Chiefs will reveal their plans for the second round during a media briefing on Tuesday. Motaung insisted that his side won’t sign more players. Amakhosi have acquired the services of striker David Zulu on a four-year deal from Chippa United to beef-up their attack. Explained Motaung: “It’s not easy to sign players during this time of the season. “They’ will need more time to adapt to the style. When will they settle because games are coming thick and fast?”
