KAKAMPI MO ANG BATAS.SYNDICATED, ENGLISH. 03 JULY 2013 Bible and Koran will transform PNP, not P9B LIFE’S INSPIRATIONS: “… Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is—his good, pleasing and perfect will…” (Romans 12:2, the Holy Bible). -ooo- CLARIFICATION NEEDED FROM PROTESTERS: Question: what is more dangerous for the safety and general well-being of our people and for the sovereignty of our nation---the holding of mere war games or war exercises between the United States and the Philippines to train Filipino soldiers, or a real invasion of our territories by a world superpower like China? To any right thinking Filipino, the answer should not be difficult to see. And yet, why are many groups contesting and publicly protesting the training of our soldiers by US troops, but are totally and absolutely silent and unwilling to condemn the occupation of Chinese troops of the Scarborough Shoal, the Ayungin Shoal, and practically all of the Spratlys at the West Philippine Sea, which are decidedly Philippine-owned? Will anyone of the protesters against the US clarify this? -ooo- THANK YOU, STAR’S JARIUS BONDOC: I wish to publicly thank fellow columnist Jarius Bondoc of the Philippine Star for his “Gotcha” column of July 03, 2013, where he featured the petition which I filed for a group of Pasay City residents with the Commission on Elections, seeking a declaration of a failure of election in the city on account of evident electronic or computer tampering. Bondoc’s column was entitled “More votes than voters in Pasay; pre-empting Comelec’s alibi”, and it said, in part: “Not only were more votes than voters merely extrapolated — but actually counted — in Pasay City. That’s why several citizens, represented by columnist-lawyer Melanio `Batas’ Mauricio, are questioning the proclamation of their mayor. “In a petition filed with the Comelec on June 25, the citizens asked for a manual recount in more than 300 precincts in Pasay’s 1st district. This is because more votes were credited to the four candidates for mayor than there were ballots tallied by the PCOS (precinct count optical scan) voting machines. With such statistical-mathematical impossibility, they said there was a clear failure of the local election. “The citizens zeroed in on Clustered Precincts 1 to 10, 20 to 25, 27 and 28, and 46 to 49. The PCOS machines counted only 7,547 ballots, as shown in the official statements of votes, copies of which were attached to the petition. But the number of votes credited to the four mayoralty candidates totaled a whopping 9,045. From where did the excess of 1,858 votes — also in the PCOS — come?” -ooo- BIBLE & KORAN WILL TRANSFORM PNP, NOT P9B: Once again, I do not wish to be “killjoy”, but I strongly believe that even if President Aquino has already approved the P9 billion “transformation fund” for the use of the Philippine National Police (PNP) between 2013 to 2016, there wouldn’t be any substantial improvement in the delivery of various police services to our people. What the President must aspire for is a “transformation of the spirit” of each and every PNP officer and employee, by compelling them to undergo a change of their minds, instilling in them the fear and love of God, no matter what their religion maybe. For even if the PNP is made awash with cash, and its guns and equipment modernized, nothing is going to change if the bag eggs and the scalawags and the abusers and extortionists in its rooster are not transformed, too. To effect this change of mind, I suggest that the PNP must be made to immediately undertake Bible or Koran studies, depending on the religious affiliation of its officers and civilian employees, and make this a regular, if daily, part of official routine. There is really a need to change the mind of men and women in the PNP, as Romans 12:2 of the Holy Bible is saying. Then and only then will real transformation start, PNP Director General Allan Purisima. -ooo- REACTIONS? Please call me at 0917 984 24 68, 0918 574 0193, 0922 833 43 96.
