KAKAMPI MO ANG BATAS.SYNDICATED, ENGLISH.26 DECEMBER 2014 Christmas day dream: earthquake! LIFE’S INSPIRATIONS: “…`And afterward, I will pour out my Spirit on all people. Your sons and daughters will prophesy, your old men will dream dreams, your young men will see visions’…” (Joel 2:28, the Holy Bible). -ooo- CHRISTMAS DAY DREAM: EARTHQUAKE! Can someone interpret this dream that I had in the wee hours of December 25, 2014? I dreamt I was inside some kind of a room, where people were selling things. As I was looking at a woman selling something (I couldn’t make out what she was selling), there was a sudden shaking, accompanied by a big horrible thud. Then, the room I was in suddenly fell under the ground, and the entire room turned very dark. Light was however coming from the glass paneling at the top portion of the room which protruded towards the ground level. The shaking and the horrible thud were so real I was awakened by them. When I realized I was only dreaming, I urgently prayed, and asked God to spare the country and our people from a calamity brought about by a big earthquake. I had to pray because in two instances in the past, what I dreamt about actually happened subsequently after the dreams. The first dream I had showed me and my wife and my daughter running away from onrushing water, prompting us to go up to a very high building to escape from it. At the top of the building, I saw that there was water---blue water as if it was sea-water---everywhere. -ooo- IS THE AQUINO GOV’T PREPARED FOR THE BIG QUAKE? It was then that Ondoy hit Metro Manila and its surrounding provinces and submerged a lot of places, causing untold death and destruction. The second dream that I had also showed me driving through roads which were filled with water---again the blue water-sea water type. Yolanda hit Central and Eastern Visayas not long after that. I do not wish to be an alarmist here, but I was right away reminded of the warnings which have been raised by international and local agencies about the possibility of a big earthquake, with a magnitude of 7 to 8 on the Richter scale, hitting Metro Manila anytime soon. The warnings have been saying that based on historical data, the magnitude 7 or 8 earthquake is already very much due. The question that should be answered by the Aquino government now is this: has it already undertaken the necessary preparations to assist Metro Manilans in case, God forbid, the earthquake of this magnitude strikes? Are the evacuation centers already identified? Would there be enough food, water, and alternative sources of energy? Are earthquakes being conducted even now? -ooo- PRAYING FOR GOD’S MERCY: The biggest problem here is this: we have been told there are preparations when---not if---the earthquake strikes, but the people aren’t really being told what these preparations are all about. It would seem that that the biggest preparation being undertaken by the government right now for this eventuality is praying it will not take place during the incumbency of President Aquino. That prayer is ok, but I guess that what we should be praying about---both in and out of government---is that God, in His great mercy and love for Filipinos, be kind enough once again to spare us from the deadly effects of a big earthquake.
