KAMPALA- Ex-internationals will line up against Uspa journalists tomorrow afternoon at KCCA FC’s Lugogo stadium in a blood donation drive match. Former Cranes players George Ssimwogerere, Philip Obwiny, Polly Ouma, Fred Tamale and Jackson Mayanja are some of the names that have been listed to play for the ex-Internationals team in the 2:30pm kick-off. Uspa will be led by president Mark Namanya, former president Joseph Kabuleta, Joseph Opio, Mahad Ssali, John Batanudde and James Ssekandi. Uspa’s last outing was a 1-1 stalemate with the Airtel Rising Stars team, a match in which the journalists played one of their best matches in a long time. The blood donation initiative is a brainchild of Hope Sports Club, to conduct public awareness campaigns to ensure a steady supply of blood and to ensure universal access to safe blood transfusion. Other partners for the function are Monitor Publications, Airtel Uganda and Crown Beverages. Meanwhile, Uganda’s representatives Express paid the price for their defensive lapses as they fell to Rwanda’s APR 2-0 in the Cecafa Kagame Club quarterfinals in Sudan yesterday. Jean Baptist Mugiraneza and Nova Bayama scored in the final 20 minutes for the Rwandan side to progress at Express’ expense. Outgoing Express coach, Sam Ssimbwa, who recently penned a two-year deal with Rwanda Police FC, missed the services of his two key players Julius Mutyaba (injury) and left full back Ismail Kazibwe (fever). Uganda’s other representatives URA will be in action against Rwanda’s Rayon Sports in another quarterfinal today. Another knock-out encounter will see Burundi’s Vital’o play Ports of Djibouti
