KANO CONTAINERS DEPOT STARTS OPERATION THIS YEAR. The Kano Inland Containers Depot is to commence operation by the end of this year. The Nigerian Shippers Council announced this, explaining that all problems that delayed the take off the facility have been solved. Chairman of the governing board of the Shippers Council, Retired Lieutenant General Salihu Ibrahim, made this known, assuring that commencement of the depot’s operation would bring about 70% reduction of the costs incurred in the shipment of products. The chairman also advised all shippers to feel free and relate with the council on issues within the council’s jurisdiction for necessary action in improving shipping activities in the nation.
