KARACHI, August 13: Bilawal Bhutto Zardari, Patron-In-Chief of Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) has greeted the nation on the occasion of Independence Day and stressed on further strengthening the democracy so that fruits of freedom and independence reach all and sundry. In a message to nation, Bilawal Bhutto Zardari said that our founding fathers had dreamt of an egalitarian society in the new country where rights of every individual have to be protected without any discrimination. A democratic struggle led by Quaid-e-Azam Mohammad Ali Jinnah culminated at the foundation of country but thereafter dictatorial forces blew up the democracy in bud forcing the nation to launch an un-relented struggle for its restoration under the leadership of Pakistan People’s Party. It is due to the sacrifices of democratic heroes of our nation like Zulfikar Ali Bhutto Shaheed, Shaheed Mohtarma Benazir Bhutto and thousands of other martyrs and maimed democratic workers that people have exerted their powers to establish a true Pakistan in the light of its founding ideology. “The PPP is proud of its historic struggle and we will continue our struggle for achieving the goal of a federal and democratic polity in accordance with the vision of Quaid-e- Azam, Quaid e Awam and Shaheed Mohtarma Benazir Bhutto. We will continue to fight the militant mindset to the finish, no matter what the price and what the odds”, he said. PPP Patron-In-Chief paid rich tributes to all the heroes of Independence movement led by Quaid-e-Azam Mohammad Ali Jinnah and other Muslim scholars of undivided India and urged the nation to follow their foot-steps to drive Pakistan to an international stage where it is revered a model Muslim nation following the true democratic path. He also hailed the courage and valor of those who have laid down their lives fighting against militancy and extremism. “Their sacrifices will not go in vain”, he added. Bilawal Bhutto Zardari said people of Pakistan will celebrate the Independence Day with true national fervor as they understand the value of true independence and freedom because the forces of darkness and disintegration seem bent upon to grab our independence and held all of us hostage to terrorism and lawlessness.
