KASHMIR—MANY FACES: (A poem about the election drama by Mohd. Ulfat Anjan) Behold the rallies humming like bees , Polluting the air, the gentle breeze ; Again the fools dance and sing, To please the wicked, ferocious king; And raise ugly tones to praise them high, As if the gods never would die ; And beg for a vote for the fraudulent God , As if he is the supreme Lord— Who promise a lot but provide naught , And thus play with many a heart ... The same people yesterday pelted stones , And filled the air with freedom tones ; Today have put one different faces , And tying with teeth the dirty shoe laces— Everywhere exist these black sheep , Who laugh at the tears when others weep ; What is wrong with my Kashmir vale , That tells everyday a different tale ? Oh Allah bless this wounded land , Let flowers grow from the blood red sand ; Let blood of my brothers not go vain , End this misery, agony and pain ; Let freedom reign and freedom sing , And peace do conquire everything...!
