KEEP OUR PETS FOOD BANK NEWS: St. Michaels in Garden City In honor of the Feast of St. Francis, we will again have our annual Pet Blessing. There will be two opportunities for blessings: For school students there will be a blessing on FRIDAY, OCTOBER 4TH at 2 pm in the field in front of the school and one for the parish will take place on SUNDAY,OCTOBER 6 at 1 pm. The parish blessing will take place in the lawn area between the church and office. Of course, anyone is invited to attend on either date. So don’t forget to please bring yourbeloved pets for a special prayer from St. Francis and St. Michael!In conjunction with the pet blessings, we will also hold a pet food collection for Coastal Animal Rescue and Keep Our Pets Food Bank located in Murrells Inlet. Coastal Animal Rescue is a no-kill; cage free; all volunteer animal shelter in Murrells Inlet. Our mission is to rescue homeless cats anddogs and find them loving "fur"ever homes. We currently house approximately400 cats and 30 dogs. We need your donations of wetand dry dog and cat food. We currently have 30 plus kittens that needwet and dry kitten food. For more information go to our websitecoastalanimalrescue.org/. Keep Our Pets Food Bank (KOPFB) was the brain child of Linda Donahue. Sadly Linda passed away on Aug. 30, 2012 of cancer. Herfamily and friends are fulfilling her legacy of “Keeping People andPets Together”. Serving Horry and Georgetown counties senior and low income families, currently over 150 animals are fed a month. We need donations of wet and dry dog and cat food and cat litter. For more information go to our website at keepourpetsfoodbank/. Both of these organizations are 501c(3) charities and do not receive any state or federal funding. We depend on fund raising and community support. All food donations will be divided between both organizations.
