KELLY BLOCK, 2013................................. The gray clapboard store front building on the east side of Marble Street was recently the Westside Print Shop. Over the years it has been an antique shop, and previous to that, a barber shop owned by Albert Fryzell. In the 1920s, it was called the Kelly block. Mrs. Kelly ran her Hat Shop and sold and repaired ladies hats. The left side of the building was a grocery, called the Red Front, which later became the A&P. At the turn of the 20th century there was a pool room on one side of the building and a barber shop on the other. The second floor had apartments. There also may have been a billboard advertisement in the space north of the Kelly block. (all information from the West Rutland Historical Society)
