KGS NightWatch For the night of 29 April 2014 North Korea-Russia: Authorities from Russias southeastern Amur region signed an economic cooperation agreement with North Koreas Foreign Trade Ministry, according to a report from the Korean Central News Agency (KCNA). Comment: Russian entities are taking advantage of the strain in North Korean relations with South Korea and the US. China-US-Russia: Chinese National TV published the following report on its web site. The Chinese government has been maintaining close contact with all sides in the ongoing Ukrainian crisis. But in some of its strongest words yet on the Ukrainian crisis, Chinas Foreign Ministry has criticized this latest imposition of sanctions by the US on Russia. Imposing sanctions is not helpful in terms of solving the problem. It will only exacerbate the tension. We call for all parties to continue dialogue and negotiation, and promote a political solution. Imposing sanctions goes against the interests of all parties, said Qin Gang, Spokesman of Chinese Foreign Ministry. Comment: The Chinese have taken a clear stand in support of the Russians. China has worked for more than a century and a half to recover Chinese lands. That struggle continues. Its sympathy lies with and its policy supports Russia. N igeria: Update.
