KIAGBODO, THE HOLYLAND. A TRIBUTE TO A TRUE LEADER, Kiagbodo - TopicsExpress

KIAGBODO, THE HOLYLAND. A TRIBUTE TO A TRUE LEADER, Kiagbodo is an upland Ijaw community in 8urutu LGA, quite motorable and a walking distance from Olomoro town in Ughelli South LGA. It is the home town of the Ijaw iconic leader and one of the foremost nationalist in Nigeria, Pa Edwin Kiagbodo Clark. Kiagbodo, in recent times has become a kind of holyland for Delta State politicians who wants to have the annointing oil poured on their forehead for the rulership of the oil rich Delta State either at state or Local Govt levels. Kiagbodo is for guber aspirants of Delta State what Mecca is to Moslems who go there to acquire the status of an Alhaji and what Jeruselem is to the christian faith who also go there to be a JP (Jeruselem Pilgrim). In Mecca there is a black stone where the moslem faith go for attunements, cleansing of iniquities and blessings, and in Jeruselem, the Wailing wall stands tall to serve the same purpose for christians. Similarly, in Kiagbodo there is the mansion, the country home of Pa E. K. Clark, whose palatial sitting room provides opportunity for the politicians to confess their sins, that if they realised they had sinned against Papa, attune for the sins and pray for forgiveness while appealing for his blessings and annointing oil. I was there today (4/09/14) to accompany my choice, our choice for the number one citizen of our dear Delta state come 2015, Sir Dr Anthony Chuks Obuh and his teaming supporters to pay homage to this rivalled political czar of our time and sought his blessings for our mission. The full experience and outcome of our trip is been keyed into my system, it is juicy and will be on air within seconds from now. What draws my attentions, in about my 5hrs of being in the town is the level and high volumes of business activities that is going on within the perimeters walls of the mansion and along the route to the holyland. Indeed, citizens of the area have much to be grateful to God for giving them a Dad that is more than a Dad, a Dad whose presence in their midst has continued to bring joy and blessings to them with wealth in high business profits. Young men and women are indeed making a comfortable living through the sales of assorted kind of goods, ie sacket water, bottled water, beers canned and bottled, foods, dry fish etc, etc. The funny aspect of this is that the prices of these goods are doubled the normal prices and more profits are made from the fact that most of the buyers (big time politicians) do not bother to ask for a balance change of whatever they bought. I took time to ask a young lady who simply introduced herself as Peretubor, how business was going on for her, the pretty looking damsel was full of smiles and responded that it was really booming for them and wished that the visitors continue to pour in adding that any time Daddy is around, we normally make great sales. She however changed her contennance when I demanded my balance change of N100 for the bottled water I bought from her. I knew, she was not expecting me to demand for the N100 out of N200 I gave to her, but I demanded for the change because same brand of bottled water was sold to me for N50 at Olomoro on my way coming, so business wise, she had cheated me with N50. Another set of people that are been blessed by the life Pa E. K. Clark are the jobless youths. Not only the Kiagbodo Youth but also youths of Ughelli south who live along the route to the holyland. They rather apply uncoventional but funny ways of making some cool cash by positioning themselves to places where there are potholes and bumps. As soon as they sight a flashy car coming, they jump onto the road hailing, father! father! na you dey go! no challenge! Your boys dey hungryoo. Surely, they often get rewarded with cash as much as 50k, 100k or more depending on the financial status of who is making the gift. Kiagbodo is a fine community with beautiful houses and tarred streets. From my experience today, I have come to realise that Pa E. K. Clark is indeed a source of hope and blessing to the people living around him. May God continue to extend his life.
