KIDSQUEAK - II. Tinku, the son of a Naval Commander, was blessed - TopicsExpress

KIDSQUEAK - II. Tinku, the son of a Naval Commander, was blessed with an observant eye, coupled with a sharp tongue. He often made blunt remarks about people in their very presence, to the great embarrassment of his parents. Once, an old friend of the officer came on a visit from another station, and called on him at the office. After official business was over, the Commander invited his friend to have dinner with him at his bungalow. He explained to his wife that the guest was endowed by Mother Nature with a prominent nose, which resembled the sail of a boat. There was a risk that Tinku, in his typical fashion, would come out with some frank comments about the guest’s facial appendage. The boy was therefore strictly warned not to utter a word on the subject. After a couple of “pegs”, dinner was announced. Soup was served. As dinner progressed, the boy, seated opposite to the guest, became so fascinated with the guest’s protuberant organ, that he kept scrutinizing it, and could think of nothing else. The guest, a little groggy by now, was too engrossed in his discussion with the host, to notice that his own necktie had fallen into the soup. Tinku could stand it no longer. “Uncle, your NOSE has fallen into the soup!” He shouted. * * *
