KITALONG, GABRIEL TOP PHS 50TH COMMENCEMENT EXERCISE Island Times. May 23, 2014. Wade Ewatel Kitalong and Nicole Gabriel leads the honor roll for Palau High School’s 50th Commencement Exercise held Thursday morning at the Palau National Track and Field. Kitalong was named as this year’s Class Valedictorian while Gabriel is the Class Salutatorian as both finished their academics with 4.00 GPA. Aside from the class valedictorian, Kitalong was also in the high honors list and named outstanding student for Business Information, Mathematics and Science. On the other hand, Gabriel was also in the high honors list and named Outstanding Student for English and Liberal Arts. Both Kitalong and Gabriel joined their class of 118 graduates for this year who received their diplomas. PHS Class of 2014 is headed by Cherylyn Aulerio as president with Afyon Allen as vice president, Kiva Remeliik as secretary, and Shiphrah Tellames as treasurer. Receiving High Honors awards were Wade Kitalong, Nicole Gabriel, Cherylyn Aulerio, Marisil Ngirbedul, Jedidah Masahiro, Meangeldil Azuma, Edward Neilson Baysa, Elchung Hideyos, Krystal Tamngug, Afyon Allen, Enny Derbai, Dupree Marcus, Ianthe Douglas, Justice Taima, Kaylee Giramur, Shiphrah Tellames, Blossom Eyoel, Katelynn Master, Blake Oiterong, Kiva Remeliik, Noelani Ngiramengior, O’Brien Ngemaes, Jr., Mechereng Miko, Coral Baiei, O’Quinn Sakuma, Michelle Mariur, Ungilrengul Aitaro, Francine Francis, Jairus Merep, Alundra Rengiil, Havalei Recheked, Abraham Taisacan, Aldrienne Aldrin, Cassilda Adelbai, Gorman Mereb, Jonathan Castaneda, Charey Ellis, Geana Stark, and Bakas Sasao. Receiving Honors awards were Rubie Gabriel, Medermel Yaoch, Kara Remeliik, Easter Malchiyanged, Cherelle Williams, Harriencia Blesam, Tyuk Omelau, Besul Aitaro, Janet Luke, Osismereng Kanichi, Jovalee Augustine, Hiroshi Ruluked, Yuhang Ge, Demira Kumangai, Jamielyn Basilius, Texxon Taro, Keoki Yamanguchi, Jay-Van Tarkong, Omlei Aderkeroi, and Kual Taima. PHS also gave the Outstanding Student Awards to Havalei Recheked (Agriculture); Dupree Msau Marcus (Automotive Technology); Wade Ewatel Kitalong (Business Information); Edward Nielson Baysa (Contstruction Technology); Nicole Kamril Gabriel (English); Jedidah Masahiro (Health Career Pathway); Nicole Kamril Gabriel (Liberal Arts); Wade Ewatel Kitalong (Mathematics); Afyon Allen (Palauan Studies); Edward Neilson Baysa (Physical Education -- Boys); Enny Shawntel Derbai (Physical Education – Girls); Wade Ewatel Kitalong (Science); and Cherylyn Aulerio (Social Studies and Tourism and Hospitality). The awards were given by Education Minister Sinton Soalablai, Bureau of Curriculum and Instruction director Debbie Tkel-Sbal and PHS principal Smyth Rdang. Also present during the event were High Chief Ibedul Yutaka M. Gibbons, 9th OEK Chairman of Health and Education Committee Sen. Raynold Oilouch, who was also the guest speaker, Delegate Yutaka Gibbons, Jr., Koror State Governor Yositaka Adachi, PCC president Dr. Patrick Tellei, Johnny Kintaro of the Belau Family School Community Association, PHS PTA Chairman Kyonori Tellames, Sandra Pierantozzi of the Sumang Demei Memorial Scholarship, Joshua Kumangai of the Ongedechuul Sholarship Foundation, Kione Isechal (Cheldebechel era Ngarablod era Oreor) and Principals of the different elementary schools in Palau.
