KLIN-FIRE!! At the end of August next year there will be a science-fiction convention held in Albuquerque, New Mexico. A Literary science fiction convention. Its called BUBONICON. (2) Even more shocking, Im thinking about inquiring about a FAN TABLE. I dont believe in piling such a table with a lot of crap--although, I might toss one of my ST3 worms on it. Ive found props attract more attention than paper. ALSO, Ill have a front-opening vest plus a headpiece. Anybody wondering what its like to look like a Klingon, this is a chance to find out. A mirror lets them see themselves immediately. Not only is this a photo opp, it gives me a chance to hand the person a business card. Hey, send me a copy of the photo, will you? An actual emailed photo shows commitment, and that we made an impression! (Artwork for the card by my friend TWISTY/Joel Nye!!) At ARCHON, we had a costuming panel--not the usual type where a couple of people sit behind a table and drone on and on...and on and on, hoping to fill up the hour. We did it differently. KAG-like. Uniformed Klingons stood up (after I volunteered the first two or three) and talked about various features in their costuming. Materials used, how it was made. Customizing-- how SHARPEE PEN and Magic Markers made the lines. So well do another one of these panels-- probably Saturday afternoon. Sunday itll be TOS KLINGON DAY, which I truly enjoy. A panel Ive grown fond of doing is WHY THE FEDERATION SUCKS! Im wanting KLIN-FIRE!! to have a ship in Albuquerque New Mexico; as such, everything we do at BUBONICON is geared towards recruiting. Repeat: EVERYTHING WE DO AT BUBONICON IS GEARED TOWARDS RECRUITING. --- Two or three members of the IKV DARK SUN will be coming along withme. Two from Omaha Nebraskas KURKURA STATION are planning on making the trip. So far, two of my friends from Denver are coming down, and others from Arizona and Texas are eager to drive over or up to New Mexico. Whats YOUR schedule for next August 28-30?
