KM News Flash: Abu Dhabi leads the way with the Virtual Style Pod The creation of the Virtual Style Pod for The Galleria, on Al Maryah Island, Abu Dhabi paved the way for Engage Production Ltd. to win the Star Product Award in the Public Display and Retail Category at the annual Installation International Awards. As in so many areas the Middle East has yet again been the launching point for the use of new technology via the Virtual Style Pod. The Pod utilizes a life-size screen mirror and augmented reality software overlays to the user’s image with realistic 3D renders of clothing. “We orchestrate communication experiences using technology and interactivity,” said Steve Blyth, founder and director of Engage Production Ltd. which specializes in delivering innovative, creative, technology-led experiences to a variety of creative professionals and agencies. Mr. Blyth added, “Communication Experiences (like the one we created in Abu Dhabi) are projects driven by our clients to convey a message or messages to a defined audience in an engaging, memorable experience utilizing interactive interfaces.” The Al Maryah Island project led to other companies and venues contacting to Engage Production Ltd. to create memorable, hands-on, experiential marketing events using new technologies to entertain and highlight emerging products and services.
