KNOWING GOD Your eyes are too pure to look on evil; you cannot tolerate wrong. Habakkuk 1:13. Now we come to the fourth step we need to take to move from confusion to confidence: establish a spiritual context in which to think through the problem. Look how Habakkuk sets about doing this as illustrated in the verses tht are before us today. He focuses his attention, not on his feelings or his circumstances, but on the nature and character of God. One by one, he singles out some of the attributes of God and reminds himself of the characteristics of Gods nature: O Lord, are you not from everlasting? - His eternal nature; We will not die - His faithfulness; You have appointed them to execute judgement - His justice; Your eyes are too pure to look on evil - His holiness; You have made men like fish in the sea - His omnipotence.
