KTU clarifies Senapati, Sep 25: The Senapati office of the Kuki Tribal Union (KTU) has clarified that there was no regional or communal intention in the detention of three youths at Senapati few days back and rather it was a service rendered to the society by the KTU. A statement issued by the KTU said it has been receiving a number of unconfirmed reports of collections made by an armed individual in the name of KTU in Senapati District HQ Area. Upon further investigation in this matter, on Sept 22 three youths were caught red-handed while trying to extort money from a local bus owner at Senapati DHQ. Upon interrogation of these culprits, it came to light that they were inebriated and thus were sent off after due warning.
