Kappa Kappa Gamma @ UCR member Delaynie shared these beautiful words in an Instagram post, and we cant help but share them with all of you. Growing up, I watched my brothers & sisters become leaders in their respective Greek organizations. I stalked their formal pics, attended their philanthropies, and eagerly awaited the day that I, too, could join a fraternity. From the outside, I knew why they joined. But after choosing Kappa, I understood why they stayed. That inexplicable feeling of home in a rented room full of strangers, my choice of kappa spilling out onto the preference paper before I consciously knew what I was doing. My wish was the same as theirs three years ago, and joining became staying in a heartbeat. To be a kappa is to add your individual spark to a collective fire that will never go out. To be a kappa is to speak with confidence, knowing a hundred hearts and one set of values stand behind you. Kappa is meeting your best friend the second day of recruitment; adding another big sister to your family; creating a home where you never thought it was possible.
