Karl Marx warned us that free enterprise or worse yet unregulated capitalism would eventually lead to the wealth to be gathered up. Then the wealthy would be able control the government and change the way Washington works and to change Capitalism by deregulation in their favor. Then along comes the Supreme Court 5/4 decision, Citizens United, to allow corporations and billionaires unrestricted and undocumented amounts of money to flow into the political system. The amount of money being spent on elections is obscene. Now its not solving problems but buying influence in controlling decisions in their favor. The distrust in our government is and will be all consuming before this is changed. One of the most important thing for our very survival as a Nation is campaign finance reform. There is NO chance of that happening without demonstrations and possible riots in the streets.
