Karva Chauth, the Hindu fasting for the prolonging of the Spouses life is approaching on Tuesday. A request to our Sikhs, especially the women, who take part in such fasts to NOT do so. We live in the Will of God and no kind of fast will ever prolong the life of your husband not will it bring you a future husband. You are daughters of Guru Gobind Singh Ji. Pray to Guru Gobind Singh Ji for the protection of your husbands. This is a Hindu ritual NOT A SIKH ONE!! Stop the fasting and stop polluting our Sikhi with ridiculous practices. If the Gurus have said fasting in any form is NOT allowed, then we should respect this and not follow others, ultimately disrespecting our Gurus teachings. The fast may be all bright and fun, where you all dress up in new clothes, but how does that satisfy God in prolonging the life of your husbands?? Something to think about!!
