Kashmir Black Day Observed in Riyadh Pakistan Embassy Riyadh organized a program in its chancery hall to commemorate Kashmir Black Day. The function was presided by HE Charge d’ Affaires a.i. Mr. Khayyam Akbar. His Royal Highness Prince Faisal Bin Bandar Bin Mashari Al-Saood graced the occasion as Chief Guest.The speakers highlighted the importance of Kashmir issue and condemned the Indian occupation of Kashmir and human rights violations in Kashmir by Indian armed forces. They appealed UN to solve Kashmir issue according to Security Council’s resolutions and pledged to continue their support to Kashmiri people till they get their right to self determination. Mr. Ahmed Bakhsh, an Arabic journalist, in his speech expressed grief over the worst violations of human rights in Kashmir and highlighting the importance of Kashmir for Pakistan said that Kashmir is a jugular vein of Pakistan. Another journalist Mr. Faiz Najdi said that Kashmir and Palestine issues are similar as the oldest issues on UN agenda and implementation of resolutions regarding these issues are still awaited. A young student Omer Zahoor reminded the responsibilities of Pakistani community toward Kashmir issue. HE Charge d’ Affaires a.i. Mr. Khayyam Akbar in his key note address said that the day is observed in remembrance of illegal occupation of Kashmir by India. He appreciated Kashmiris for their long continuous struggle for their right to self determination and added that the day is not far when they will get freedom from Indian clutches of slavery. . He thanked government of Custodian of the two Holy Mosques for its continuous support to Kashmiri people. He assured that Pakistani People are untidily standing with Kasmiris in their struggle for their rights. He said that Pakistan expected from new Indian government to solve Kashmir issue by negotiation but unfortunately, new govt. has closed the door of negotiation and became more aggressive by unlimited violations on the border and line of control but our valiant armed forces retaliated Indian aggression with full force and succeeded in averting Indian heinous designs. Quoting Pakistani PM’s recent speech in UN he said that Pakistan cannot sideline Kashmir issue. Mr. Abdul Basit, Mr. Abid Gill, Mr.Asif Qureshi, Ch. Rafiq, Mr.Faiz najdi, Mr. Nazim Malik and Rashid Butt addressed the meeting. At the end a resolution was presented by Mr. Atiq Raz condemning the Indian occupation of Kashmir which was adopted by the audiences.
