Kashmir Flood Relief Contribution APPEAL ANHAD in association with Christian Aid, CMAI, Aqua Plus carried the following relief work. A large number of individuals contributed in cash and kind. Free cargo was carried to Kashmir by Indigo and jet Airways. ANHAD team immediately responded and started during rescue operation in Tangpora, Rajbagh, Jwawahar Nagar, Alochibaugh and Bemina in Srinagar from 7th Sept.2014 onwards. The main relief activity conducted by ANHAD in Kashmir is as given below. 1. Relief material distribution. ANHAD started relief material distribution in Batmaloo and Bemina area of Srinagar and Boniyar in Baramulla districts to about 1000 HHS. Which includes water, dry food items on 16th Sept.2014 onwards. 2. Medical camp with free medicines. ANHAD in Association with CMAI conducted medical camps in worst affected areas by providing free medicines. The team of doctors and paramedics and assisted by ANHAD volunteers have conducted medical camps in Srinagar and rural areas. 3. ANHAD in association with technical support agency AQUA provided safe drinking water facility to control epidemic and waterborne disease. 4. ANHAD has directly distributed chlorine sachet by covering 5000 HHS providing 30 pouch per family. 5. ANHAD in association with local mohalla commitees distributed 1000kgs of bleaching powder in kursu rajbagh,jawahar nagar,batmalu new colony, Chattabal, lasjan and Bemina. 6. ANHAD is conducted a rapid need assessment survey in Srinagar, North Kashmir and South Kashmir and identified 500 most vulnerable families . A relief package containing rice, daal, spices, oil, sugar, tea, utensils, salt + one big mattress and one razai is being provided to these 500 families. We are short of funds for providing 300 sets of mattresses and razais , the rest has been purchaised and distribution to 200 families has happened. We will be obliged if You can contribute towards this . Mattress (size 7x 5 feet with 7 kg cotton) ,Razai ( 6.5 x.4.5 with 5 kg cotton). Cost per set is Rs 1200 /- There is also an urgent need for temporary shelter as the winter has started. So far Anhad has not been able to to raise any funds for that as amount required is huge.
