Kate update: lab results have returned and show no signs of ulcers (means little too me since Annies test for ulcers was also negative), but Kate did show signs of infection of the GI tract or possibly lungs. Unlike most infections, the symptoms for this one arent very obvious. She didnt have the classic signs: fever, discharge from nose; but without treatment, she will continue to be anorexic and depressed. We will start giving her antibiotics. We are still going to treat for ulcers, however, and give her probiotics until she starts gaining weight again.
