Kathy Lancaster Grover hey after betsy ross Im going to do a story a good friend of mine sr john he died 25 years ago sat that made me remember any way sr john at the age of 16 joined the British army during world war 2 at the age of 17 he was knighted for saving his fellow soldiers any way after the war he was sent to northern Ireland when he spoke out about the brutality he was decommissioned and he moved to the us any way he told me of a story his father told him it was Christmas eve 1914 at the battle fields in flanders the Germans dug deep in there trenches started to put little trees light with candles outside there trenches and started sing silent night across the dead zone British and French troops started sing along soon both side came out of there trenches shook hands gave candy cigarets to each other soon they all were ordered back into there trenches and ordered to fire at each other the soldiers on both sides fired in the air at the stars as not to kill one another on Christmas eve I think this would make a good shamus history story looked it up there is a book written on the event for research what do you think
