Kathy S. Dillard Sunday August 17, 2014 TITHING Malachi 3:8-10 King James Version (KJV) 8 Will a man rob God? Yet ye have robbed me. But ye say, Wherein have we robbed thee? In tithes and offerings. 9 Ye are cursed with a curse: for ye have robbed me, even this whole nation. 10 Bring ye all the tithes into the storehouse, that there may be meat in mine house, and prove me now herewith, saith the Lord of hosts, if I will not open you the windows of heaven, and pour you out a blessing, that there shall not be room enough to receive it. Understanding benevolence in determining how to acknowledge God with our monetary offering takes diligence, faith, dedication and sacrifice. Because of Job, we are richly blessed. Because of Jobs devotion to God and his willingness to sacrifice, there is a covenant of thanksgiving with God that keeps us humbled and focused. The decision to tithe depends on where your life is serviced and to whom does the bearer deliver. Because history has maintained vigil over Gods command, the effort of tithing has history and proof. Employment Contributions In the workplace, we have tax deductions that give accountability of our earnings and because our government has attempted to build a economic structure that will sustain our needs for years to come, we have pensions that prove God blesses our obedience and beyond our knowing has made a way for times ahead when we are less able to pace ourselves as we once did. Church Tithing Giving a tenth of our incomes to our various churches allows us a contribution to the membership and the community. The truth in offering a financial gift of love is that what you give selflessly is given abundance in your life and the value of Gods outpouring is of far greater use and far greater worth. Faith Malachi asks, 8 Will a man rob God? Yet ye have robbed me. But ye say, Wherein have we robbed thee? In tithes and offerings. It is an act of Faith for one to labor long hours, receive a paycheck, acknowledge tax deductions and then consider yet another offering to give. If Church membership is part of how you praise and worship or if the Temple or Synagogue is your place to give homage to God, then a pledge or tithe is a reasonable contribution. Whether together or separately, every dedication given is a sacrifice that God blesses. The more we do to give God indication of our Faith and Love, strengthens the bond we share. Choosing good leadership and determining to lead our cause in Christ Jesus, provides a reliable Economy for our futures. 41-2058645
