Kay gave me the number 9. I hope I did this right this time!!! 1. I was born in West Chester Pa. and got to Texas as soon as a could when my Dad moved us here when I was 3. 2. I am basically shy and somewhat socially awkward. When you get to know me you will find that I can be very funny. 3. My mother put me in dance and later theater acting class. I loved both but I was still shy.LOL! . The theater classes lead me to a double major degree in Speech Communications and Art. 4. I saw Kennedy up close an hour before he was killed when his motorcade came through River Oaks and was struck by how wrinkled his face was. 5. I marched in the Rose Bowl Parade with the Castleberry High School Band my senior year. ( longest 7 miles ever!!!) 6. I was awarded Whos Who in American Colleges and Universities as a student at McMurry University. 7. I was elected Teacher of The Year in 1998 while teaching at Cross Timbers Middle School in Grapevine/Colleville ISD. 8. I participated in competitive scuba diving spearfishing and scuba skills in compass run and scuba exchange. Gordon and I held the record for a while for scuba exchange of 19 seconds. We had to exchange tanks and mouth pieces with double hose and single hose equipment while submerged in 20 feet of water. 9. I share my passions for teaching, art and swimming with my soulmate of 43 year, Gordon Hubenak, who I meet while working at Burgers Lake.
