Keep your best wishes, close to your heart and watch what happens. -Tony DeLiso How do you make the most of every meditation session? Whether you are a new or experienced meditator, its good to review the basics now and then to help you gain the focus and clarity we receive when keeping with our meditation practice. Here are five ways to make the most of every meditation session: 1.Find a quiet place and get comfortable, where you won’t be disturbed. Even if it is as simple as putting in your earphones, closing your eyes and shutting out the world around you. It doesn’t matter if you sit or lay down, as long as you are comfortable. Then place your palms so they face the sky. 2.Be “present”. You want to achieve total awareness of your current surroundings. Do you hear anything? How does it feel to sit? Do you feel tension? What are your thoughts? 3.Breathe and focus. Feel your breath as you breathe in and out. 4.Listen to your body. Now that you are more present and focused, listen to your body. Notice how it feels, from your toes to your head. If your mind wanders, concentrate on each full breath. 5.Practice makes perfect. Set aside some time each day to meditate.
