Keeping the utility bills down: I have bubbled wrapped my window and then placed my recycled bubble shipping bags over that to block out the sun and keep the heat out and the cool A/C air in. I have a fan at the opposite end of the room that helps circulate the air and can set my A/C to 74 degrees instead of 64 (lowest it will go.) I have placed a large towel under my door to keep the cool air from escaping and weather stripped the rest of the door so theres a tight seal. My electric bill for a 3 bedroom OLD house that runs 2 refrigerators and a t.v./fan in each room last month was $40. As we near summer I will need more use of the A/C especially when the kiddos are on vacation but normally doesnt go over $70. I make sure my Momz and and the babies spend much of the day at the library, Senior Center or the public water park. I also keep a kiddy pool in the tiny back yard for them to spend cooling off under the shade. #SingleMama Shoot I DIDNT EVER have A/C in the 37 years I lived in this house. I just installed one last year when I came back. Kiddos should know how lucky they are!
