Kelly: So. Lets talk about a dead, rotting whale, shall we? Everyone wants to know, who is responisble for making the whale carcass in Port Hastings go away. The federal Fisheries Dept says that if the whale is in the water, removal is a federal responsibility, if it is onshore, it is the responsibility of either the province or municipality. I think they are punking us. Its half in and half out. The tide is going to be low at 12:13pm which means it will be onshore and the responsibility of the province or the municipality. BUT, that is only until 5:53pm at which time, the tide will be high and the whale becomes the responsibility of the Federal Govt So long story short - hope you like the smell.
