@Ken Agala wrote…. In a bid to attract morbid humor, one Lauretta Onochie, a protege of Mallam El Rufai posted this picture and tried to caricature President Jonathan while he knelt down to pray at the Holy Ghost Congress, an event that has been described as the largest Christian gathering in world. While trying to denigrate Mr President in this picture, the lady exposed a few beautiful things about President Jonathan. She inadvertently agrees that President Jonathan is passionate about this country. In her list of prayer points by the President, she unknowingly agrees that President Jonathan is not offering any prayer for his personal benefit or the benefit of his family. In her submission, all Jonathans 11 prayer points is for Nigeria and Nigerians. This reminds me of the prayer of King Solomon when God asked him to name whatever he wants. God was pleased when the Kind desired nothing for himself , but rather asked for wisdom so he could lead the people properly. In other words, King Solomon actually prayed for his people in that encounter with God. This also shows that President Jonathan is kneeling on that alter on behalf of this Laurreta Onochie lady . All this lady could do is to pour insults on a praying man, who she has inadvertently acknowledged, is praying for her. Historically, mother fortune has often smiled on leaders who have a passion for their people. The forces of the universe always tend to grant them favor . This love and passion for humanity might be one of the secrets of President Jonathan. How on earth can one explain a country facing terrorist attacks and massive oil theft, yet Foreign Direct Investment (FDI) is growing. cnbcafrica/news/western-africa/2013/08/01/nigeria-top-fdi-destination-in-africa-but-crippled-by-oil-theft/ thenationonlineng.net/new/nigeria-leads-south-africa-angola-on-40-6b-fdi/ . How on earth is it possible for the monstrous NEPA and the powerful generator importers cabal to be dislodged in one fell swoop by the privatization of Phcn( the largest privatization on earth) . How is it possible that I can live in Nigeria for six months and I will not queue at a filling station to buy petrol or carry Jerry cans in my booth anymore? How is it possible to establish 13 new federal universities in two years , creating capacity to absolve almost 20,000 applicants annually, when all previous governments could only set up less that 20 Universities in 50 years ? The last University set up by the federal government is the University of Uyo in 1991,which was an inheritance from the Cross River State governments Unicross, established in 1983. Who would have known that Nigeria, whose name was gradually been erased from football circles, could turn around to win two trophies in one year? How is it possible that Nigeria, a country that was formerly a pariah nation a few years ago, now get this kind of testimony from world leaders President Obama: Well, I appreciate very much the opportunity to meet once again with President Jonathan and his delegation. Obviously, Nigeria is one of the most powerful and fastest-growing countries in the world. I think thats testified by the fact that President Jonathan is going to have the opportunity to ring the bell at the New York Stock Exchange. I think it signifies how important Nigeria is becoming in the global economy. We have a very strong relationship between the United States and Nigeria. It’s not just based on government-to-government relations, but also people-to-people relations. And we have an outstanding Nigerian-American community here in the United States that is making incredible contributions in every field every single day. President Jonathan has committed to building on the democratic process that weve seen in Nigeria in the past. The last election that brought President Jonathan to power was a hallmark on the continent and in Nigeria in terms of free and fair elections. And I know that he is committed to making sure that the elections in 2015 move in that same fashion. Were going to be able to have an opportunity to talk about the issues of energy and power. Nigeria is a major energy producer, but it’s also an important energy consumer. And as many of you know who were on the trip that I took to Africa just recently, we are really focused on how we can help to bring electricity and power generation throughout Africa -- not just in the big cities but also in the rural areas, and Nigeria is a potential partner in that process. David Cameron said: “Tell me this: which part of the world has seen its number of democracies increase nearly eight-fold in just two decades? Eastern Europe? No, it’s Africa. Which continent has six of the ten fastest growing economies in the world? Asia? No, it’s Africa. Which country is predicted by some to have the highest average GDP growth in the world over the next 40 years? You might think Brazil, Russia, India or China. No. Think Africa. Think Nigeria Back to issue at hand. One of the things good fortune does to you is that it helps you work smarter and attract the right people to work with you. A few days ago, theres members of Jonathans economic team , Aliko Dangote, Jim Ovia and Dr Adesina Adewunmi, were nominated by Forbes magazine for African person of the year award. Its instructive to note that, the award had been won previously by another member of his economic team, Mallam Sanusi. The likes of Nasir El-Rufai can only mentor youths who contribute nothing but spew venom, magnify every challenge we face and continuously preach hopelessness, while they live in mansions which they stole from the people when they were in office. The good news is that, the sun doesnt rise and set over their evil desires. Nigeria is getting better. Lets all get better and not bitter. https://facebook/photo.php?fbid=10151992416098469&set=a.10151015158643469.458766.802318468&type=1&theater¬if_t=mentions_comment
