MONTYS SOUTH BEACH Ever since the investor for Sushi Samba took over Montys on the beach, installed Sushi Samba and Books & Books management, fired 95% of the staff, redid the decor and improved the food ( lord knows it couldnt have possibly been shittier and more embarrassing), Ive been hitting Montys virtually every single weekend. On weekends, they bring in amazing DJs from The Vagabond, The Electric Pickle and the place is pumping with electro, nu wave / disco, remixes, noir and minimal. Its a crazy good vibe now. Anyway, we love to get their shrimp nachos loaded with extra sides and jalapeños, the cod Fish & Chips are great, the burger is real, the tater tots rule and the Mahi sandwich is fantastic. If you havent been to Montys in the past year, go on a weekend day.
