I also had been interested in James Blood Ulmer without knowing his music, only on a base of a long interview with him that had been came out in the then famous Polish jazz magazin in 1982! I at once realized that he is my man! And since that I looked after for his records, and yes, my intuition was right, and I fell in love in his music when I first heard him playing. Good to see that many people experienced the same. Thank you Ken Onda! Listening to the music of James Blood Ulmer for the first time in a long time. Just like Steivie Ray Vaughan, he is a kind of artist that you would feel this man is not a ordinary guy at moment seeing photo of him without listening his music. Bought his album by only seeing a photo of him. Expressive power of this guy, wow amazing! Album Black Rock I want to listen. Remastered on CD only in Japan, it had already been discontinued. I tried to listen to some of his music on youtube. They are so cool!
