Kendrick Recruitment now has a vacancy at a luxury property in the Natal Midlands for a Senior Sous Chef. This position is new for the hotel due to the increase in occupancy during this year. This is expanding the kitchen to two Senior Sous Chefs. This position is available ASAP and we are looking to get someone in who will be able to run the kitchen on their own when the head chef is on leave, as well as being part of an intricate team in the kitchen. The successful candidate should have a versatile, calm temperament and be able to work under pressure and relate to the various departments (Front of House, Food & Beverage, Spa) that depend on the kitchen for accurate, creative, cost effective service. An understanding of the key components of cost management is critical as well. Fine Dining experience is key for this position and wine knowledge is advantageous as well as Bistro experience as the Hotel hosts two different restaurants, experience in banqueting is also required for the position. The position is live in – single room, own bathroom with access to a lounge, kitchen and laundry. This is a fantastic position for an up and coming Chef.
