Kensley learned an important lesson today. Theres a girl on her cheerleader squad that was giving her a hard time. She was talking about Kensley, being unfriendly and making my daughter feel uncomfortable about even going to cheer practice. Today, after practice Kensley gets in the car and tells me that she feels sorry for this little girl. I asked why. Kensley explained how the girls mother died and her father is in prison and she doesnt have her parents. My heart broke for the little girl as Kensley told me her story. But also my heart broke because at 9, Kensley realized what some grown people dont. This child has gone through so much in her life that she has such a guard and huge distrust for others. The little girl doesnt know how to be anything but mean. Leave it to Kensley to remain kind and friendly towards her. Of course it would be my Kensley who talked to her and befriended her in spite the fact that this little girl has gone out of her way to make Kensley feel bad. Even after that, my daughter has such a heart for her. She feels for this child. The lesson my daughter learned, and Ill quote Kensley on this. Mama some kids arent mean on purpose. Shes had such a hard life and she doesnt know that shes good on the inside. She just doesnt know how to show it. So Ill just be nice to her until she sees that shes still a good person even though her mom is dead and her is in jail for a long time. Sometimes people take their aggression out on you when you are not the problem. Dont be offended, just be kind. Thanks Kensley. Love ya kid!
