Kenya U20 list faulted Western Kenya Football Kenya Federation (FKF) branch chairman Andrew Amukowa has questioned the fairness in the recently released Kenya U20 national team that is set to take on Tanzania in the preliminary round of the 2015 African Youth Championships (AYC) qualifiers. Amukowa, who is also the FKF vice chair of the Leagues and Competitions Committee, told futaathat the list is not representative enough and went on to question the criteria used to pick the players. Blame game In what would pass as a direct accusation on the FKF Technical Director, he called on future selection of youth national teams be left to the federation’s youth committee. -We have gone through the list of those selected and it is not representative of all regions in the country at all. We wonder what criteria was used to make the selection. -Some of the players we see in the list selected were in Lesotho for the COSAFA U20 and are the same players that Angola pointed out as being overage. In future -We would want that in future the selection of players for all youth teams as well as associated technical benches be left to the Youth Committee at the Federation and not to the Technical Director – his role should be overseeing training of youth coaches throughout the country and not selection of the youth teams and their coaches, he said. Kenya will host Tanzania on the weekend of 4 – 6 April then the return leg will see the two face off a fortnight later.
