Kenz Update.... We were moved from the ICU a week ago!!!! Tomorrow marks one month we have been in the hospital for this infection. During this time Kenz only received a couple days of chemo to finish up her last cycle and then the majority was spent resting in order for her white blood cell counts to recover. Thankfully she only had to miss one treatment of chemo! The infection seems to be getting better. She had another CT scan done Sunday which still showed some inflammation. They consulted with the GI doctor and performed a colonoscopy along with a endoscopy. For the most part everything looked great except for a few ulcer type sores that indicate theyre in the process of healing. Kenz still has a hard time keeping things down and is on scheduled meds for her nausea. She still is receiving T.P.N. in order to make sure she receives all her nutrients. The chest tube was removed Saturday and x rays continue to show no further build up of any additional fluid. She also weaned herself from the additional oxygen prior to leaving the ICU last week. We still are waiting for all the test to come back on the bone marrow biopsy that was done last Wednesday. Two of the test revealed no leukemic cells!!!!! We anticipate to hear this week about the remaining test (MDR) results. This will be the most important and will determine whether or not a bone marrow transplant will be required. Please pray for complete remission!! Tomorrow we will start another cycle of chemo and they will place a port and will remove her picc line once the morphine is no longer needed. For the most part she is doing great!!! Shes in good spirits and much better than she has been the last several weeks. Thank you all for being so incredibly patient with me. I know its been a while since my last update and there has been so much going on but I appreciate your calls, text and Facebook messages!! I continue to be amazed and I thank God daily for his many blessings that are shown through each and everyone of you!!
