Kepak Meat plant in Clonee today to view the farmers protest organised by the IFA. What we witnessed was a protest by about 200+ farmers which closed this meat plant and 14 others around the country. Workers were locked out of work and will be for 48 hours in total. The farmers protested in the same peaceful way as Water Charge protesters the only difference was the stance taken by the Gardai. With the farmers shutting down and barricading a factory we witnessed one single Garda directing traffic.
