Kevin great point on the need to speak English. When I attended College there were many heated debates over this issue. My Father came from Columbia in 1935 did not know the language but learned the language and assimilated into the culture. The problem is many Hispanics see that learning English as a betrayl of their culture. I learned to speak English 1st and to my benefit. Recently their was a Gas explosion in Spanish Harlem. The language barrier may have lost a life or two because of that fact. I believe the Principal should not have been fired.
