In that wise, they can not keep the commandment of God and they now tailored a tradition law in alternative, which suited their desire. That what exactly happened now. And that what Jesus elaborated from verse 1-6. At least, only people that their heart near to God or have passion to know God more, can fear God- proverbs 1: 7, 9: 10 & psalms 111: 10 Actually, to draw near to God, required submission of oneself, wholeheartedly. The only people that have fear of God, received the training & disciplined themselves by obeying and keep His commandment, in order to work in righteousness- Titus 2:12 NET says; It trains us to reject godless ways and worldly desires and to live self-controlled, upright, and godly lives in the present age (sinful dispensation) Listen to this confession Apart from the fact that l was well brought up in the fear of God by my family. At a time, when l was working; I found myself following the law of the land, not a commandment of God. Half of me, straying away from Gods commandment. The law of the land (culture) says; if you can not beat them, join them. Hopeless shameful sinful law! Without alternative means to make extra from my place of work by using my position, which was against the law of the company; l wldnt be able to meet up with my needs & responsibilities. So, l started praying, cried out to God but my plead was not in the unimaginable possibilities of God but in my own limited possibilities, then. Similar to the innocent request of Samson in the bible, when he thought God cld not offered him best help than to die with the Philistines. My was to travel abroad in order to breakaway from the (culture) law of the land. I was very myopic. I had forgotten, God can elevated me from not enough to a enough, post of excess; rather than kickback. The culture of the land in my position at that time was egunje, riba, gbemu, name it- kickback. Up till date; hardly average 50% of Nigeria Christians can boast that they are living on their true income or say their means of livings are righteous according the will of God. Whereby, l shld have just asked God to elevate me. Meanwhile, God in His infinite mercy, elevated me. At that point, a place that l had applied and did interview; offered me job. The company was into automobiles. They were trading in cars sales & services. They had showroom in Ojota & workshop in Ogba. Fat salary to start with and lot of fringes & benefits, which was 5 to 7 times compare to what l was earning at my current place of work. They offered me a position of workshop administrative manager. Meanwhile, l was an assistant technical workshop manager in my current place then. What am l trying to say; your heart to live for God (true repentant, obedient to keep His law and how to channel your prayer in a positive way, only matter to God). He will make away, where there is no way- Isaiah 43:19. But, l was too bent to change my mind. Though, l didnt regret it, anymore. But, it was tough in the beginning, very tough. Actually, there are many of us in this life that can not succeed through our own knowledge, except by completely cast out our trust on Him (working in His obedience) - Psalm 118-8 Back to the teaching. Whoever that can not keep commandment of God, will definitely rebel (hostile) against the words of God and find alternative means (doctrine/tradition) as a coverup in place of Gods law. Just like Pharisees & fake ministers of God, today. The following passages below, buttress my teaching.
