(((:::Key two words: HISTORICALLY INHABITED.::;))) . ” Washburn said. “The Nation seeks to restore a tribal land base in a region it has historically inhabited.” (((:::Yes, presently we are the largest land based Tribe in the PNW. But, we/our 14 original bands land encompassed over 1/2 of Washington State, 10% of Oregon and a high % of our total land base into Canada.:::))) We should always consider developing favorable ties with the Mayors and County Executives in Leavenworth, Wenatchee, Moses Lake, Winthrop/Twisp, Grand Coulee Dam/Electric City/Coulee City, in hopes with each City/County support, we can build relationships opening doors to purchase either from the Cities, Counties or private individuals to develop lands which will bring in more Commerce for these Communities. After we have secured and locked in these support network proposals; We present a unified plan to the Governor, our US Congressmen/women, our two US Senators, WA State House and Senate leaders, then finally seeking Kevin Washburn and Sally Jewells approval in the Department of Interior. Why keep taking chances building in areas like Omak, when Cedars Inn was built in 1979, (I was one of their first employees and only Native working in the fine Dining Room), hasnt been profitable, changing hands, falling in to disrepair, another poor idea in an area that has less than 15,000 year round residents. The above mentioned Communities have Traffic Counts and Tourists visiting year round. Requiring little or no further expenses for Advertising. Its a win - win for all parties involved. We/our Tribe just needs to be trustworthy in all our dealings with all parties
