Khoury and Money: 1. On his last birthday, we found a card later on with $7 in it. Somehow the money got moved around, but he knew about it. Every so many days, hed say, Mommy, you got my $7.00? 2. I pack their lunches, but one day, he decided he wanted hot lunch from the school! So, I get this bill for $1.86 that also got....well....overlooked. He would bring another copy home from time to time. Finally, one morning (many weeks and copies later) I saw him putting all this loose change in an envelope. What is that for, Son? He said, Ima pay for that lunch. See, on this paper, right here. 3. Khoury lost a library book. We got a bill for $12.00. Hed gotten some money from somebody, cant remember who, and I said, Since YOU lost the book, YOU pay for it. Well, the other day, months later, he found the book in Kerris room. We celebrated the solving of the mystery. When I turned to walk away, I said, under my breath, so I thought; Hmmm, wonder if they would give us our money back. The next day, Khoury came home and said, She said, sure! Huh? The librarian. I went to the library and asked if she would give us the money back if I returned the book, and she said, Sure! Yesterday, Khoury came home with that money! I said, Khoury, Im so proud of you! You went and handled that all on your own?! His reply, Well, a mans gotta do what a mans gotta do! - I wonder what hell be when he grows up! Whatever it is; hes going to have some money!
