Kidnapped Ebonyi Lawmaker Released, Beaten To Coma The Ebonyi State Majority Leader and member representing Ikwo North State Constituency, Hon Sam Nwali, earlier abducted by unknown gunmen in the early hours of yesterday, has been released by his abductors. It was reliably gathered that the abducted House of Assembly member was released in the afternoon of yesterday but was left in a terrible condition as he was beaten to a state of coma. When LEADERSHIP visited the Ebonyi State Department of State Services, Hon Nwali was said to be receiving medical attention. However, operatives of the agency though confirmed that the House of Assembly member was with them but did not allow journalist to either see him or interact with the majority leader. At about 3:15pm, the Ebonyi State Governor Chief Martin Elechi, members of the State Assembly including the new Speake, Hon Helen Nwobashi, were seen driving into the SSS office. At about 4pm, the state governor was also seen leaving the SSS office without the members of the House of Assembly. All efforts to speak with the governor and the Ebonyi State Director of the SSS were abortive. The lawmaker for Ohaukwu North State Constituency, Hon Frank Onwe, revealed that they were in the SSS office to see their abducted colleague.
