The flip-side to this use/exploitation of your relationships is that whenever the service goes bad, you loved ones will blame you for convincing them not the company. So when you meet your nearest and dearest, do you use that relationship to give him/her dawa, have tender family relations, share love, hear their pains and give advice or sell them a toaster? Choose. My point above is more serious, its not just about halal and haraam, for Muslims especially dawa carriers its about sulam alqiyyam (scale of values). Why should the world be full of marketing from tv, billboards, radio and now my cousin only comes to visit me to sell me cheaper gas. Why should the one who wants to change the system suffice for himself to be an economic mule.
